Johnny presents his favourite movies at Glastonbury, June 22 (Videos added)

He joined Kris Kristofferson on stage Friday late afternoon. Watch BBC4 now! Yes, but it was quite a painful to watch set. Kris kept forgetting parts of the songs or how to finish them. Mined he is 81. Johnny came in a little late and Kris looked a little bemused by his appearance. Johnny joined in...

Re: Johnny Sues Business Managers, Accuses Fraud. Added: Johnny is Countersued

I'd love to know how wearing or indeed not wearing earbuds is relevant to how a person deals with their own finances. Crazy.

Foreword (and scans) of Disney Pirates: The Definitive Collector's Anthology

What an interesting read! Such a treat to be able to get his own views rather than that of a critic or a biographer.

Thank you, coolcat328!

The Mountain Shadow Tidbit #8: The Tuareg

I have just been watching on BBC4 the new remake of Roots, which concentrates on Mandinka people from the north of west Africa, ie Mali and borders. I think it will have already been shown in the US? Anyway, the person whose story is being told, Kunta Kinte, is a Mandinka warrior whose original ambi...

The Mountain Shadow Tidbit #2: Aphorisms

Thank you for he research, ff! I'm afraid these passages in the book annoyed me. Too much of a good thing, I thought. I think these sayings/pearls of wisdom/ bon mots would have been a lot more effective if they'd been rationed, then we'd have reflected on their meaning more. But I suppose he had a ...

Re: Johnny and Amber have appeared in Australian Court

Thanks for posting GG, I saw this on the BBC website earlier. I must admit I'm not impressed with the video, I didn't sense any sincerity in the words spoken, Johnny just looked bored and half asleep. I realise they had a long trip and were suffering from jetlag but that's really no excuse. My thou...

Re: Mortdecai Tidbit #13: Blini and Caviar

My first 'spoon' of caviar was coaxed on me when I somewhere between 8-10 years of age. A cousin's wedding. I have the most vivid memory of the guy, all dressed in formal wedding wear holding the spoon, and telling me to try it and how I would love it, and I did. I even remember the glass bowls the...

Re: Mortdecai Tidbit #13: Blini and Caviar

Over here you can get blinis in the supermarket chilled counter, I think they're usually bought to go with a bit of smoked salmon and crème fraiche (well they are in this household when the ...er...chef has people over and can't manage doing a starter). The jars of salmon roe are a pretty addition b...

They are lovely, peaceful and friendly. Not so crowded as you may suspect, Nebraska! Beautiful beaches. But you have to be very rich to get resident status.

Re: Mortdecai Tidbit #5 - Oxford Tour

Liz, I think you have accidentally got The Buttery wrong. You have it as a particular pub/bistro/ restaurant on The Broad, but the context from the book is most likely the college refectory (=café, food service counter with tables to eat informally at). It's another colloquialism. Most colleges in ...

Re: Mortdecai Tidbit #5 - Oxford Tour

Same in Cambridge GG. St John's college owns most of the Science site (Microsoft, AstraZeneca, ARM etc ) and Kings owns most of the route of the M11. Some colleges are made of money, others a bit poorer.
