This was very interesting. I have a question, either DITHOT or askmewhy: Why do the streets look so empty? Was it perhaps the time of day or is it just like that?

This is just awesome, y'all. Thank you so much for delving into the thick of it during your investigation. I love seeing all these pictures you took and contrasts, and I can feel that you have had a lot of fun gathering info for the tidbits. I'm in the middle of reading the book and I am really enjo...

Great costume, Dharma_Bum!

And congratulations to the winners, Rusty, Glenda and Parlez!

And the concert was great, I might add. It's always awesome to see the Stones in a small place.

Liz, Great costume! DH worked late on Halloween and since the Stones concert was delayed a day, I went to therapy and then had to fight my way to the subway through the mess that is the NYC Halloween parade. It's a VERY disorganized event. It didn't used to be that way, but it is that way now. I did...

Why does Liz get the easy ones? The other part that got on my nerves was that screeching sound that you hear when Sweeney killed someone. Is that what you mean Boo? I did think the song "A Little Priest" was funny and I liked No Place Like London too. :capnjack: In the Sondheim book...

I'm thinking it's the same reason crowds used to turn up to watch a hanging, rubberneckers slow down to look at a bad car accident, and people enjoy all the fascinating stories of trauma and tragedy on the evening news shows. My guess is that it's curiousity.

I think when looking at a villain in a play, the character in some ways almost NEEDS to be an evil caracature, over-the-top, clear-cut bad guy/gal, archetypical, like nebraska said. It's necessary for that medium. Otherwise, it's easy for our minds to remember that even a villain is just a man, and ...

When this project first came up in discussion, I posted that I thought it would be cool if Len Cariou had a part in the movie version, even a cameo. And I still think that would be cool. I have vague memories seeing the play in the '70s, but I don't remember much.

I read a long study of children's games around the world, all remarkaly similar, and following similar developmental patterns everywhere. Many involve exclusion, of individuals or of ...
