That was wonderful, thank you so much for putting that together. I live in London but I'm not sure I've ever actually been to Kensington Gardens. I've been to St James' and Hyde Park but never got around to that one. Next time I venture into town I'll definitely take a look, it's beautiful.

I saw this series when it was first shown here in the UK, before I had JDOCD and knew anything about The Libertine so I don't remember Rochester in it. Damn, now I'm going to have to wait for it to be repeated here at some point. I do remember really enjoying it though, Rufus Sewell is excellent. Ja...

I have no experience of this myself, but I've heard that filming is actually quite boring most of the time because you have to wait ages for lighting etc etc to be set up so maybe he reads between takes.

I think it would be really great but he's soooo busy at the moment, would he have the time? whoops, edited because I didn't read your whole message Sands, and just repeated what you said about his agent.

I'm late joining this thread, but I wanted to say that having read the play and a book of his poetry and songs, I have great sympathy for Wilmot. He was a product of his time and privilege and I wonder what would have happened to him if he'd lived longer.

I made sure I told Johnny about the comments that it was his best performance ever. He was really touched by that. Janine Oh to be able to tell him that in person - Thank you for conveying to him our praise  it was my pleasure to be able to tell him that. There hasn't been any press about it ...

your comments are very well thought-out and very interesting to me. I need to go back and re-read the play again so that I understand everything you're saying.

For interests sake, where did you manage to get so many of the pictures of the film? I've not seen most of them before.

This is very interesting. I've read the play and can't wait to see the film when it's finally released. Johnny described the film to me as 'hefty' and I can see that it would be.
